When I first sought out to start my own business, I had this plan in mind. Plan A since I'm a type A kind of girl. But boy has that plan long since been forgotten. My business has taken me to journeys I never imagined going, introduced me to people I have yet to meet (in real life), and taking me to places I never dreamed of going. Its been exciting, overwhelming, and wonderful all at once. It has taught me some of the greatest lessons I've ever learned. My heart has been overflowing with gratitude and thanksgivings at all the opportunities and blessings that have come my way as a result of taking a leap of faith.
I recently had an opportunity to sent products to both Hilary Duff and Zooey Deschanel for a little holiday gifting. I felt like I needed to pinch myself with the opportunity. It wasn't necessary part of any plan I ever had when I originally started my business. However, it was a neat opportunity; one that I simply could not turn down.
And, I've been working a new line that will be submitted to a buyer of a department store. It was never in the plan to get in large stores. Never. Ever. It wasn't a goal, it wasn't even a thought, but when the opportunity presented itself, I felt like there was no harm in taking a leap of faith.
As the new year is approaching, I do have plans and a direction for my business. But I'm planning on holding those plans with open arms willing to watch them adapt and change, and take me on more new adventures. I'm excited to look back a year from now and see all the new people, places, and things that come as a result of my business.
