5 Things to be Happy About

1. I just love Panera and their lovely lemonade to no end. I spent a few hours catching up on emails before having dinner with my sweet friend Kate.

2. I found a New Year Eve's dress that I love, love, love! Its actually from Delia's, which makes me laugh a little bit. I guess we can all be teens at heart, yeah?

3. I decided to give my cat more of a purpose this week while I was watching some TV.

4.  It's finally getting cold around here, so I've made a few pit stops to Starbucks and filled up on hot cocoa!

5.  The last item on my list from this week makes my heart so happy! Y'all have sent so much traffic and sales to my shop that its been the top shop in the bigcartel directory for the past few days! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Trying Something New

I'm pretty steady when it comes to what I wear and what I like in fashion. I tend to stick to bright colors, mainly in the greens, pinks, and yellows. And its a rare day when I wear all black. But lately I've been pushing myself to try new pieces and be more adventurous when it comes to fashion. I found this blue dress at Target for less than $30 so I knew that I couldn't loss if it didn't end up working.

I love it because I can still pop color with the yellow but the dress is more tailored than ones I typically wear and its blue which is something I don't wear often. Overall, I was pretty happy with the end result of stepping out of my comfort zone.

You know how you read someone's blog and you think to yourself that girl must be so fabulous in real life. This is exactly what I thought when I stumbled across Nat's blog called Take the Cannoli. She always looked so stylish and you could tell she had a good heart by reading her posts. 5 Things to be Happy About

1. I found myself in a rose garden earlier this week and was marveling at how beautiful they truly are. What a creation by God!

2. I've always spent a lot of time around children from being a teacher to babysitting on the weekends. As a result, my eyes are always peeled for fun kid gifts. I stumbled across this crayons yesterday and fell in love with them. There colors are so bright and bold!

3. It's finally starting to feel more fall/wintery around here, which sadly I dislike. The other day it was cold and rainy and I was secretly wishing I could stay in my pjs all day long. But alas, I had errands to run so I popped on my happy rainboots and it seemed to make the day a little less dreary.

4. I found these amazing gold shoes at Target. They are both fancy and comfy all in one which is my favorite kind of shoe!

4. Fleece-lined leggings. You need them, trust me! They are so so so amazing. $9.99 at Bed, Bath, and Beyond.

6. This is what my heart looks like. Nothing makes me happier than sending some little notes of encouragement, and occasionally I like to throw in a gift or two!

5 Things to be Happy About

1. I found a super fun lace dress at Target the other day. I almost wore it with black wedges but then I realized I'd be wearing all black and that wasn't going to happen! So I paired it with pink cowgirl boots, of course!

2. I attended a Madewell event earlier this week hosted by my dear friends Kate and Lauren. I had such a blast trying on clothes and came away with some clothes that I absolutely loved!

3. Kate found a cat scarf which cracked me up so no end. She didn't end up buying it but her and Lauren walked away with other cat merchandise, go figure!

3. I've been working on leaving my clothing comfort zone lately and thus rocked some grey polka dot pants and bright bow shoes. Every time I looked at my shoes, it made me smile!

4. Lately, I've been living in the library sending emails and catching up on life. I bought a new notebook and sharpies and realized that its the little things in life that make me happy!

Life Lately

Things have been rather crazy around here, and my blog hasn't seemed to publish what I've been writing! Crossing my fingers that this post goes live without any problems! I kind of feel like I've been running around with my head cut off, but surprisingly I've managed to have a whole lot of fun in the mix.

Kate and Lauren had been mentioning going to a corn maze for awhile now and invited me to join along in the fun. Now keep in mind, in my head I had planned for a fun time running through a corn maze. No big deal, right? Wrong. They decided it'd be fun to go to a haunted house/corn maze. I'll be the first to tell you that I don't do horror of any sorts as in I don't think I've ever seen a scary movie in my life. In fact, the tv show Revenge is about as far as I'll venture down that road.

Kate sent me this text message and after the events of the night I really wish I had listened...

Needless to say I wore pink!

We were heading through our last haunted corn maze in which I had little to no bravery left. But really who would after having men chase them with chainsaws?! As we are rounding the first corner, I see a creepy clown out of the corner of my eye and then this happened..

Clown: hey, whose that in the pink?
Lauren: here name is Carrie!

And then he proceeded to chase me me whispering, "psst, carrie"

I pretty much wanted to crawl in the fetal position! Lets just say I won't be doing that anytime soon!

I also participated in the color run, which was a blast! I'm not a huge fan of getting that dirty but I absolutely loved it. If there is one if your city, I highly recommend doing it!
