Empire State of Mind

On Wednesday, I'm heading to NYC! I'm going for the ALT-NYC conference which I'm really excited about and slightly nervous as well. I always get a little nervous before any conference, which I realize is a bit silly at this point. I'm trying to not think about the airplane rides or the thought of being in a big city that is unfamiliar to me.

I've only been to NYC a few times and they were always in large groups. I'm excited because I'm going to have a whole day off to explore the city. I'm looking for some suggestions of places to go and things to check out. So leave me your thoughts in the comments! Thanks!

  1. you should go to madison square park - they have a dr. seuss-esque art display up. and take lots of pictures so I can live vicariously through them! also if you've never been, serendipity for a frozen hot chocolate is a good NY staple. enjoy! xo - chels @ LLinaBC.com

  2. I really liked the High Line when I visited NYC a few years ago. They were only opening the first portion of it so I'm sure it is even better now. Not to mention my favorite coffee shop ever, Intelligentsia, just opened a shop right around there. :)

My other favorite memory was purchasing sweets (macarons, etc) at Thomas Keller's Bouchon Bakery and taking them across the street to Central Park.

If you're into cooking/kichenware/markets Chelsea Market is a fun stop. The Doughnut Plant is also worth visit.

    Have fun!
