In the last week or two, I've gotten about 8 emails that have just humbled me, and caused me to be full of gratitude and thanksgiving. Each email started out the same way, wondering which product would be the best for a child with little to no hair. I responded back with an image of this product and asked what age the child they were buying for.
Every single email that I got back started like this, "well, its not for a baby, but my child has cancer." My heart sunk, way, way deep down. I can't even begin to understand what it must feel like to have a child with cancer, and to watch them hurt and suffer. But it was a good reminder of why I started my business in the first place. I designed a lot of my products (in my head) while I sat in many waiting rooms waiting for answers to some health concerns. I started it out of a love to make beautiful things, to touch lives, and to share stories.
Each of their emails, their stories, their hearts are truly a gift to me. They helped remind me that each and every single day is precious. I was reminded that you can't plan for the unexpected, and that sometimes you have to learn to adapt to life's little curve balls.
