Giving Thanks

I absolutely love thanksgiving. I'm looking forward to spending some quality time with my family. But more importantly, I'm thankful for the opportunity to take a step back and be truly grateful for all that I have.

Doesn't this look so yummy?!

I've been reading this incredibly inspiring book called Living Life as a Thank You. And it is radically changing the way I view things and how I should be living my life. It's actually my New Years resolution, but I've decided to get a jump start on it early!

The first sentence says, "Imagine living as if each day were a gift." A gift. It took awhile for that to truly soak in. If I lived that way day in and day out, it would call for radical change. If I truly lived each day as a gift, all the small insufficient things that bog me down would become non-issues. It would mean that gratitude and thanksgiving would simply overflow out of my heart and mouth. It would mean more thank yous and way less grumblings.

I hope that you enjoy every single moment you get to spend with your family on Thanksgiving. And that you get to fill your tummies with lots of yummy foods. But, more so, I hope that you are able to see that all those around you are truly gifts to be cherished and loved well.
