When Dreams Help Others

Sometimes dreams chasing involves helping others. I think those are quite possibly my favorite kinds of dreams because they have a greater and more long lasting impact. I think we sat down and had coffee for an afternoon, you'd see small glimspes of my heart for people. I seriously love people, their stories, their journies, and their dreams. I think in part my sensitive spirit aches for those who are struggling or hurting, and I so often wish there was more I could do.

In the past I've used my business for various different causes in order to be a small part of a bigger story like; families adopting or little ones fighting against cancer. Today I'm excited to announce a new partnership that I'm using my business with. One of the main reasons I love blogging is the emails that occassionally pop up in my inbox. A few months ago, a sweet blog reader of mine introduced me to an organization based on Nashville, TN called My Life Speaks. My Life Speaks helps support the many needs of people living in Haiti. While I don't know them personally, if you spend a second researching it you can see their hearts. And let me just tell you, their hearts are big and beautiful and incredibly generous.

I've been working on a new line of necklaces and bracelets for awhile now, and as things progressed forward it seemed to make sense to use this new line to help those in need in Haiti. So five dollars from the sale of each piece will be donated to My Life Speaks to their pre-natal program. This will help ensure that expecting mothers get enough food and care prior to their baby being born. It warms my heart to no end knowing that with your help, we can make a difference together!

Assuming I have enough bravery to overcome my fear of flying for the 12th time this year, I'll be flying out to Nashville to meet these sweet people in real life. And, my goal is to take a trip to Haiti in the next year. While there are so many parts of me that don't miss being a teacher, my love for children will never cease. That being said, I can't wait to love on some little ones over in Haiti!

  1. Hello! I love your idea and think that it is amazing what you are doing! I think that we all have the obligation to give back--God wants us to live out our purposes so that we can use our gifts that he gave us to give back in some way. You are doing just that! And I know what you mean about teaching and the kids, if only it was just about them. :)
